             Successful case on hot stamping foil slitter HN1600 HSF with Indian customer

 

On December 25, 2023, I received an inquiry from an Indian customer. The customer told me that he was a middleman and was looking for a hot stamping film slitting machine for his end customer Karul Holo Science India Limited. Although it was the Christmas holiday, I still replied to the email as soon as possible and took the initiative to add the customer's WhatsApp for more efficient communication. In the initial communication, I learned that the customer had extremely high requirements for the accuracy and stability of the machine, but because its end customer had not yet finalized the project details, there was uncertainty in the procurement plan. Despite this, I still insisted on following up every month, providing customers with detailed technical parameters, case videos and market analysis, and gradually building trust.

After entering February 2024, the frequency of communication gradually increased. The customer raised many professional questions, such as the tension control accuracy of the slitting machine, the influence of the blade material on the edge of the hot stamping foil, etc. Although hot stamping foil slitting is not my area of expertise, I actively consulted the technical team and compiled detailed answers and comparative data. During this period, the middleman customer also asked us to recommend multiple models and repeatedly compare performance and price. Since the end customer has strict budget control, each recommendation needs to weigh the cost and effect, and the process is extremely cumbersome.

The real challenge came in June 2024. The customer suddenly reported that since the materials that its end customer needs to slit are hot stamping foil and cold stamping foil, and both materials are very thin, a lot of dust will appear during slitting. Its end customer considers the safety of the operators and hopes that we can solve this problem with technology. Therefore, our engineers suggested adding a dust suction device. Although it cannot completely remove the dust, it can also solve the problem of dust in a large area, and to a certain extent, it guarantees the personal safety of the operators.

In November 2024, the customer finally agreed to arrange for the technical team of the end customer to visit the factory in China and conduct field tests. However, on the day of the test, the customer temporarily proposed to add an external vacuum suction box to absorb the waste edge, of course, this requires additional equipment. Due to the tight delivery period, we discussed with the technical department overnight and finally provided a feasible modification plan and additional quotation within 48 hours. Although the customer hesitated about the price, we successfully dispelled his concerns through flexible measures such as splitting the payment method and extending the warranty period.

On March 12, 2025, after 15 months of communication, 3 model adjustments and 5 rounds of price negotiations, the customer finally placed an order. During the production process, the customer asked to replace some accessory brands. We quickly coordinated with suppliers to ensure that the overall progress was not affected.

On May 10, I sent the complete test video to the customer, which clearly showed the slitting effect and rewinding process.

Looking back on this cooperation, the biggest difficulty is not technical problems, but the patience consumption and changing needs in cross-cultural communication. But it was every quick response and every detailed plan that finally impressed the customer. I deeply understand that foreign trade business is not only about selling products, but also about building bridges with professionalism and sincerity.
